When it came time to plan my wedding, I knew I wanted it to be perfect: the swans, the angel food cake with pink frosting, and lots and lots of flowers. I had been planning this day for as long as I could remember. I must have presided over a thousand weddings with my stuffed animals, because it was no secret: I really wanted my own.
But what’s the point of having a perfect day if you can’t share it with everyone you care about. Thank goodness my fiancee Jason knew how to conduct a People Search online. Because I wanted to invite everyone! All my friends from the cheerleading team in high school, all my sorority girlfriends from college, even all the random friends I made while on a cruise around the Greek islands. Heck, I even wanted to invite all my ex-boyfriends - just so I could make them jealous, especially since Jason is such a catch!
I had no idea how easy a people search would be! A lot of these sites collect information from public records, so just a first and last name usually brings up a person’s address, phone number, even email address! And even with common names, like “John Smith,” if you know the birthdate - or even roughly what part of the country a person lives in - you’ll track down everyone you ever wanted in a snap!
My wedding is still a few months away, but tracking down all these old friends has been an utter delight. I’m catching up with so many of them - and we will very soon be meeting up in real life.
